The Problem: Bridging Opportunity Gaps

Manual Workflow

URM (Underrepresented Minority) is a platform that helps candidates connect with academia, recruiters, and DEI officers for PhD, postdoctoral, and faculty positions. There was a need for a centralized digital solution where users could register, log in, and create profiles for discovery and recruitment.

The Solution: URM Academic Application

The application was designed with accessibility and role-specific interaction in mind. I designed and implemented the role-based registration flow, where users select their role (Candidate, Recruiter, Academia, or DEI Officer) during signup and are redirected to a personalized dashboard based on that role. This ensured that each user saw relevant content and functionality immediately upon login.

I also built the DEI dashboard, which dynamically aggregates job and candidate statistics to help Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion officers identify representation gaps and refine hiring strategies. The dashboard logic integrates backend APIs to fetch real-time data and support interactive insights.
